I recently got my ears pierced (long story) and I've been on the prowl for beautiful and funky earrings ever since. One of my favorite jewelry makers
Rachel Stewart has a line of some really great pieces. Check out some of my faves:
| "Midas Touch" |
| "Gold Dwennimmen Adinkra" |
| "Soul Glo Gold" |
Rachel is also an avid
Twitter user, which probably attests for her growing popularity. Making excellence use of her
blog and
Facebook and Twitter pages, she's a one-woman show acting as her own marketing team and publicist. Besides her business savvy, I'd argue that her line can pretty much sell itself. Rachel has been featured on a number of blogs, including
Afroniquely You,
K Is For Kinky,
FroChic,
Empress Mag,
Most Beautifullest,
Fly and
Clutch Mag.
Peace Images is another jewelry line that caters to primarily African-American women with modern taste in jewelry. Here are some of my faves:
| "Akira" | | | | | | | | | |
| "Liberation ear chain" | | | |
Camille, the creator of the jewelry line, mans her Peace Images'
Twitter page which has over 2,000 followers. Peace Images has been featured on popular sites such as
Afrobella,
New Naturalista, and
Rockin That Bling. Her
blog is amazing! She gives readers behind-the-scenes looks at how she designs her jewelry and the inspiration behind some the pieces. Dope!
Finally,
Frank and Myrrh is a handmade jewlery line created by Nikole Crowe who also has a natural hair blog
The Moptop Maven. I looooove her hair! Here are a couple of my faves from her line:
| "Pangaea Blue & Ochre" | | | | | | | | | | | |
| "Cairo Half Moon" | | | | |
Frank and Myrrh has a
Twitter presence, but the lack or recent updates is probably attributed to Nikole's illness. Get well soon, Nikole!
What are your favorite jewelry lines?
